Our WCC standard-bearer just lost in PKs, hitting only one of their four PK attempts. Another potential ACC knockoff, Duke, also pulled through on 5-4 PKs. At least the ACC arriviste, Notre Dame, got knocked off by Michigan. So if I'm not mistaken the quarterfinals are one Pac-12 team, one Big-10 and six ACC.

I think you're right on with that conference breakdown. I'll cheer for UCLA (only 6 goals allowed all season), but as long as its not Duke or North Carolina, I think I'll be satisfied.

and at the end of the first OT, it looks like a serious (head?, neck? ) injury to a UNC player. Hope they are just being cautious.

Looks to be a very bad situation for UNC New Zealander Katie Bowen. Let's hope it will end up well. Brings some perspective.

Word is that Katie Bowen was unconscious for a while but was moving by the time the ambulance left. That may not sound great, but if you were watching it's very good to hear.

About as curious a comment as I have ever heard from a coach.

Pretty disturbing.
