Pilots moderately favoured at -7.5 according to the current line.

On the surface a tough start for UC Riverside by only beating UC Merced by 7 in their home opener then getting demolished 82-53 by Utah on Friday in SLC. To their credit they did outscore the Utes 40-34 in the second half, but given that Utah was up 51-14 at one point you can only read so much into that.

Pilots are 4-1 lifetime against Riverside, with of course the loss coming just last year just before the Christmas break.

The big question is: Can the Pilots keep their number of turnovers in single-digit numbers??

I wasn't able to catch any of today's game, but it looks like the answers were no, no, and yes!

Too many turnovers and the three-point shooting isn't yet where it'll end up, but a nice opening week regardless. Pilots will likely get a vote or three in Tuesday's mid-major poll.

Usual turnover problems in the first half, got it cleaned up by second. Good day for the Tylers.

Juanse had a good FT shooting touch, but only because the UCR coach got a double technical and was ejected about 5-6 minutes into the game, broadcast assumed due to being irate at a missed foul call.

Every time the broadcast was talking about the UCR player Isaiah Moses, there was a very brief moment of confusion from me as to why they were talking about Moses Wood.

The good: T-Rob let the game come to him, making 3-3 on 3P and 18 points.
The bad: 9 first half TOs.
The ugly: after building a 20 point lead (62-42) with 8 mins to go, losing 40% of that lead and having to put the starters back in the game to close it out. Harris, Masic and Robertson played 34, 31 and 33 minutes respectively, maybe 5 more than they should have needed to.
