Pacific is 1-5 in conference, their lone victory at Chiles two weeks ago. Vegas has the Tigers a 10.5 favorite, suggesting a 74-63 game.

Too bad Marcus (16.5 ppg in WCC) can not get any help scoring. McSwiggan is still averaging almost 11 ppg for the season, but in WCC play he is averaging less than 5 ppg. Franklin is playing 23 minutes per game, and also averaging less than 5 ppg. In his 5 games, Clark is averaging less than 4 ppg. Theo is getting 2.3 ppg, D is getting 5.5 ppg. Tryon is getting more minutes per game, and in three games he got 10 or 11 points, but in two games he got 0. Hugh got 8 ppg on the last two blowout losses, but didn't see the floor in another game, and totaled 7 points in the other three combined. Only JoJo is helping at all, averaging 10 ppg in conference. Pacific can't beat anybody else, and they've got two guys averaging over 15 ppg, and another at 10 ppg.

McSwiggan seems to be more and more useless with each passing game. Turnovers and missed shots. Get him out of the game and give his minutes to Fahrensohn.

A near-comeback. This team has shown flashes of being able to compete in this conference, but hasn't come close to putting it together for a full 40 minutes.

Missed 12 free throws (including at least one front-end of a one-and-one).
Missed multiple point-blank uncontested lay-ups.
Lost by 4 points.

The game was there for the taking throughout the second half. Pilots squandered the opportunity over and over with turnovers, missed shots and missed free throws.

I thought the offense looked as good as it has all season long in terms of the flow, the play calling, and the opportunities it created. The execution to take advantage of those opportunities was pretty bad, aside from Shaver.

If Shaver does end up transferring, he'll have his pick of just about any school with an open scholarship.

Hard not to have this thought in the back of your mind when he's having a game like he did. He was wonderful to watch today.

3 baskets in the first 9-1/2 minutes, to start in a 15 point hole. Outrebounded 42 to 26. The game stats were pretty even, just too much to overcome with the slow start.
