Now that Marquette and the Ducks are dispatched. This is the measuring stick game of how far UP is from being a top contender. It sounds as if Stanford had a couple of challenges but came away with wins at Boston College in OT and at UConn 1-0. According to the Stanford Women's Soccer page, it looks like the game will be streamed online. Anyone have any predictions?

It's hard to tell in a game like this! Teams that don't match-up well against good possession teams tend to either bunker down in the back or play very physical. Since Portland and Stanford place more emphasis on a possession play, it should be a fun game to watch.

I am sure this is one of those games where the cohesiveness and speed on the backline will be truly tested.

Cardinal Plays Home Opener


It will not be easy ...

Stanford has won its past 24 home openers, going back to a 1988 loss to UC Santa Barbara in the Cardinal’s fifth season of existence. Stanford also will attempt to extend its 67-match home unbeaten streak.

Both those streaks have to end sometime, this weekend seems as good a time as any.

I don't get it either. The portlandpilots website says it is "free to the World" but when I follow the link it just gets the PAC12 subscription page, so it is apparently NOT free to anyone.

I have direct TV ( Century Link) , and that isn't a PAC12 channel provider, though I'd be able to get it if I had Century Link Prism, the web based subscription.

It looks like I will watching a twitter feed and drinking up my stocks of fine beer unless it magically actually does become free to the World instead of free to those who pay for a PAC12 Internet service.

Even if you had the PAC12 network, you'd be watching the Nevada at UCLA football game, not the Pilots soccer game. Too bad there isn't some way to see this great game.

Don't know a way to watch it but looks like you can listen to Stanford campus radio broadcast of the game.

What a terrible feed. Not what I'd expect from the Conference of Champions. And the ban on noise-makers is bogus.

Announcers just said that Kaila Camelli is done with her collegiate career because of an ACL tear from Spring exhibitions.

All of the TV feeds are close-in West or in the East or in the 'couv...don't they think the West is interested. When I saw Mad Greek Deli, I assumed it was the West, but it is the East Deli only. It HAS to be better than this livestream.

I cam home from the East Mad Greek Deli after the Thorns game. They weren't showing the Pilots.
