Now that is some testosterone in action! The guy's fighting makes Elizabeth Lambert's violations seem like child's play.

I hate to say it, but Lambert definitely has some points as to the perceptions of her actions... I have played in games where guys went on rampages like that unchecked (well sans the hair pulling since nobody had a ponytail to actually pull) and while she clearly crossed the line of normal behavior it's her gender that deemed this coverage newsworthy...

She does make some very good points. It's sad that ESPN rarely follows women's soccer unless something like this does happen, and then things are taken out of context. She is remorseful for what she did, but, the men who are contacting her inappropriately are not.

Well, college soccer in general gets zero coverage on the main network as it is... And startup leagues like the WPS (or in any other sport) get zero love either (unless of course they have the backing of David Stern...)

Yeah, on the main network that's true. I saw there is a little coverage of the tourney on ESPNU and ESPN2 (as always) this year. Otherwise, it's just news that's visually appealing to make top 10 lists and things like that...

Clearly it got the coverage because the player was a women.

Would I have taken her off the field if I was the coach? - you bet. Male or female player - they're off the field with actions like that.

Would that have ever happened at Portland - men's or women's team?- I can't imagine it.
